Sri Lankan Premier League – SLPL Team & Captain

The Sri Lankan Premier League is the most radical idea in cricket in recent times. Such a league is based on free market system where the value of a player is determined by market economics. The league has been modeled on the other well run professional leagues in the world like the English Premier League and the NBA.
This idea threatens to shake up the existing establishment and further strengthens Sri Lanka’s position in the global game. The launch of the league is being heralded as the brand new era of cricket. The SLPL is easily the biggest idea to invade the sport since the Kerry Packer World Series.
The Sri Lankan Premier League governing council includes Imran Jeevunge, Darron Kane Henricus and Apinash Sivagumaaran.
The governing council, which has been appointed for five years, will run and operate the SLPL as a virtual company. The SLPL plans to grow the existing franchises by 2010
